BHAANGOVER

"Bhaangover was born in a Berklee College of Music practice room, formed from a love of sharing music and moments through that music. Our art is rooted in Indian classical fusion; we draw from global influences to create sounds that bring people together across genres and geographies.

Bhaangover is an independent cover band based in Boston, Massachusetts. Their sound is derived from elements of Indian classical music, and inspired by genres that are underrepresented in the mainstream music scene, such as regional folk from all parts of India’s culture. The band seamlessly blends genres to create modern, yet timeless, Indian classical fusion. As rising stars in the global music scene, they are working tirelessly to establish themselves in a way that flaunts their unique backgrounds. 

 

The vision for the band came together in September 25' at Berklee College of Music, where they first met. Whether it’s Paris, Mumbai, Singapore, Dubai, or Charlotte, North Carolina, you’ll find Bhaangover’s members from all across the world. This diverse group feeds off of each other's cultural influences to create their one-of-a-kind sound.

 

In April 26', Bhaangover got the chance to perform at AWAAZ, a cultural festival that celebrated the vibrant South Asian community, and blew the crowd away with their powerhouse vocals. They’ve been praised by peers and mentors alike for their on-stage presence and coordination. Bhaangover is currently writing original music to showcase their artistry and highlight their strengths as musicians.

Where did the name BHAANGOVER come from?

"Bhaang is a paste made from cannabis that has been used for centuries in Hindu culture and religious festivities. We came up with the name Bhaangover to describe the feeling of liberation associated with the experience of bhaang."

"In total, we have 10. However, we range from 7 to 12 people depending on the instrumentations of our sets."
